I think it’s always important to check in with ourselves from time to time, to ensure that we are living our lives to our full potential. So today, during this “self-assessment”, I said to myself “Self: why are you so laid back, and why do others sometimes view you as a person who doesn’t give a sh*t?” And after much pondering, “Self: It’s cuz you are effin happy with yourself..!!” ..and this is why:
- I respect myself and respect others
- I accept myself because I always aim to be honest with myself
- I appreciate what I have and never focus on what Im “missing”
- I am grateful for my friends and family, show them my appreciation and therefore receive it back. It feels good to give and receive.
- I realize that monetary value does NOT make me any happier
- I have full intention on always owning up to what I have done, and never push my feelings on to someone else. Before blaming others, I always look at ME first.. to see what I could have done differently.
- I am always researching to see how I can improve myself. You may never tell because it’s usually tweaking things like my perspective of things, how I react, etc – usually internal.
- I realize that I have been blessed with choice. I choose to believe what I believe! NO matter what is thrown in my direction, I choose not to react out of spite. And if I do, I will be honest with you.
- I choose to surround myself with positive people, and weed out the negative. Unfortunately, you are who you hang out with. I am picky with who I want in my life.. My time is of huge value, and I only make time for those who really matter.
- I do things for the Experience. The Negative Nancies of the world will say “Quitting your 8-5 office job to live in Tahiti for a year? Pish Posh that is absurd and irresponsible.” Yo dude, we only get ONE life.. experience is how we learn mutha sukkas! Experiences push us to grow, force us out of our norm..
- I have the knowledge that life is never easy. We are supposed to work hard for what we want. Yes we will be kicked to the curb sometimes. But self-pity never did anybody good. Take that extra step to try and make the most of things.. We need positivity in our lives.. who the hell wants to hang out with a complainer all the time? I would think that event the complainer would get sick of him/herself
- I love simplicity. I hate drama. So I don’t got it. That simple.
This is what makes me happy, and if you disagree that is ok.. because what makes you happy may be a whole different story. That’s another thing, never let anybody tell you that what you stand for is wrong. If it is what you believe, and it makes you happy… so be it.
Those who matter won’t mind, and those who mind won’t matter.
“The other night I was strokin’ my woman
And it got so good to her, you know what she told me
Let me tell you what she told me, she said:
‘Stroke it Clarence Carter, but don’t stroke so fast
If my stuff ain’t tight enough, you can stick it up my-…’ WOO”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

This gave me goosebumps.
Last weekend I have the opportunity to goto Paris. For those who didn’t know (you must be out of the loop), it was Mark’s 20th birthday and he decided to celebrate it with 200 of his closest friends. If you are familiar with the show “My Sweet 16″, then you have a general idea of how the party was: performances, performances, performances galore, a pianist and a DJ, sexy burlesque dancers, can-can girls, songs with French lyrics, a solo with just Mark himself.. It was a grand night full of positivity and was just an amazing experience in itself just being in a room surrounded by fashionistic people dressed with a Parisian flair. Leave it to Mark to plan something like this… and if by now, you don’t know who Mark Sheppard is.. get yourself educated! (www.marksheppardcreative.com) He is the one to call when in dire need of a photographer/graphic designer/make-up artist/party planner/etc. etc. the list seriously just goes on.. the guy is a creative genious.. and I have nothing but mad love for him. xoxo.

Just when I thought I wasn’t going to be in Toronto for at least another year or so.. Sapphire Technologies (my new job) sends me back for a week of training… just after being back in Edmonton for 1 whole week!

HARRO! IM BACK!
Instead of FBing and Twittering, I am going to make a conscious effort to update justeezy.com instead.. since you know, I pay for this and all! I orginally bought justeezy.com to try and blog about Edmonton culture… Let’s just say I got bored with that pretty fast. Until I figure out something significantly meaningful to blog about, I will just talk about myself for now. Afterall… I am pretty awesome. (shut up, Im a Leo)
Anyway, the last entry I actually wrote about myself I mentioned I was in Toronto… I existed there from Jan 09 – March 09.. and now I am back in Edmonton. Barely existing. Kidding. Kind of. Since I’ve been back, this is probably the hugest thing that has happened so far and is definitely worth mentioning:

Could not miss seeing Talib Kweli live @ EEC. Afterwards SammiSushi and I ran backstage immediately and had the opportunity to not only meet Talib but have a decent convo with him… until some groupie hoes barged in and ruined it all.
Also at the Talib Concert, were…THE GREATER GOOD !! No surprise there. Check out the vid.. they killed it!
Speaking of which… hit up tggmusic.com to cop the TGG SAMPLER for free ninety nine.
