“Our emotions have a vibratory frequency to them.
There are only two emotions that humankind experience:
Fear and Love, while other emotions branch either
directly or indirectly from these two emotions.
Fear has a long and slow frequency vibration to it,
While Love has a very rapid and high frequency.”
“Now I’m speaking as a woman
Raised with a mother’s love
She said you better recognize
The truth from lies
It’s in the eyes
Gotta look beyond what you see
It’s so much deeper than visually”
Man.. can’t believe I have been missing out on Beatchild all these years!? I really wanna write something more, and describe exactly WHY his stuff is so dope and what it all means to me, but I honestly don’t even know where to start! If you dig that soul string tuggin’ ish (Think Dilla, SV, Tribe, De La, Dwele, etc, etc), then you will definitely “Enjoy Ya Self”. You can purchase his 2008 debut album Soul Movement Vol. 1 on itunes! Here’s a few to get you started. Huuuge props to Timone for shedding light!
Excellent cover, Sir Dream! Looking forward to hearing the mixtape… Been feignin’ for a good “Love Session” kinda mix!
Turn me inside out
Make my heart speak
Need no one else
You’re all I need
Personality
and everything you do
Makes me love everything ’bout you
Your smile
Your style
so fly
I can’t deny
Gotta crush on you and that is true indeed
Now I’m diggin’ you, you makin me believe.
It’s gonna be a busy spring/summer!!!! Lots going on that you don’t wanna miss out on.
It feels like I don’t really go out much anymore but You will most likely find me at all of
these shows. Come say Hi
I NEED to see these guys… def worth the road trip to Calgary.

My favorite track on her album.. but the rest are all high up there too! I haven’t felt this way about an album in awhile.. Im gonna bank it in my “feeds my soul” jar!
I was wondering if anybody was going to hop on The Roots’ amazing renditions
of some of Dilla’s classics. Dice wrote and recorded this mixtape in less than
a week. Dopeness! Download.
I know Im a little behind on posting this, but I figure there is a higher chance of people remembering if I do a post closer to the date (can you tell I know a lot of procrastinators… and could quite possibly be one myself?). Only 2 weeks left and I am so so stoked for this show. Personally, the thought of these cats coming to good ol’ Etown never even crossed my mind.. always thought I’d have to see ‘em somewhere else (Rock the Bells anyone?). That just tells you one thing, just keep believing! bahahah. I have a feeling this is one of those things where everybody gets their tkts last minute or on the day of.. that’s cool and all.. but the slightest chance of missing out?! I’d get on that shit pronto. Just sayin. Hmm. I should probably get my tickets soon. haha.

Only in the underground can you find this kind of creativity and originality. Signed

Adad (MC) and Kenny Keys (producer), their sound comparable to A Tribe Called
Quest and the late J. Dilla. Having released 2 albums under their belt already,
“Hot N Nasty” is the first single off of their upcoming album “Green St. & Avers”
available to us all on April 13, 2010.

Erik L ft. Frank n Dank – Push it Up
“The Soular Suite” is Erik L’s first solo album. All tracks are composed, produced,
engineered and mastered by the Swedish producer himself.
“Im murderin instrumentals cause I rap with the conscience
Of felons, killers, and monsters, so revealing and honest
Were still feelin the promise, some nights I kill em with kindness
Hittin like Muhammad Ali, you more like Tatyana
All this is probly karma: You dishonored the father
Whether its God Almighty, or the almighty dollar
We follow the prophets like Islamics or the Dalai Lama”
The latest of the bunch!!! I seriously listen to the Still Dreamin’ series on mad rotation (just peep
the track list). I’d have to say Still Dreamin 4 is my fave.. it reminds me of being in Toronto
last year, grooving to it in our basement (Sap Myke!). Those were some good times.
Deep. Now THIS is what Hip Hop is kay kids? Lyrics for DAYS! Him & Black Milk got a good thing goin on.
“Just hop into my space ship, girl it’s time to fly… and you won’t need no parachute, cuz Im gonna keep you fly”
This is my favorite track off the mixtape. The cut at 1:45 is from the end of “Transitional Joint” (off Preface). So SO SOOO Dope.
If you haven’t already, download The Leftovers Unmixedtape over at his site, elzhi.com
I just had to throw this in this post, cuz it was one of the best days of my life (no joke, look how happy I looked haha). S Villa was in Edmonton in 2007 sometime (I think?), and they put on a killer show. I had an 8am class the next day, and probably got about 3-4 hours of sleep (go hard, or go home)… but it was definitely worth it. I remember right after the concert was done and we were talking to them, Tim (Dj Twist/Urban DNA) dropped Dilla’s “Won’t Do” and T3 chuckled when I let out an “awwwww” haha… eLZhi also gave props to my Hellz tee..”Yo.. dope shirt.” yeeeeeah.
“Sometimes I got so bored of trying to touch her breast that I would try to touch her between her legs. It was like trying to borrow a dollar, getting turned down, and asking for 50 grand instead.”
- Rob, High Fidelity
So, Im a month behind… but I finally got the chance to give this a whirl, and Im hooked. It’s actually been on repeat since yesterday! If you haven’t heard of Donwill, he’s part of the group Tanya Morgan. If you haven’t heard of Tanya Morgan, get edumacated… cuz they get So Damn Down.
Anyways, you know how there are some mixtapes out there that make no sense? There’s maybe 1-3 tracks outta the whole thing that are dope? You can’t really listen to it all in one sitting? Well, serving as a prelude to Donwill’s upcoming solo album, “Don Cusack in High Fidelity”, Laura’s Mixtape is mixed by Dj King Most, and consists of “remixes” and album exclusivities that showcase Donwill’s talent in lyricism & flow, and his flexibility to uniquely cater to each one. All in all a good mix of everything… I can listen to the whole mixtape from the beginning to the end… I ain’t hittin no “next” button on this one.
“Don Cusack in High Fidelity” will be available on 3.23.10 at itunes, amazon, emusic and several physical retailers.
(And seriously, an album giving props to the movie “High Fidelity” and John Cusack?! How can you really hate on that? {Between you and I, I’ve always had a major crush on John Casack… he’s sexy in a non-sexy kinda way.})
p.s. The above statement has no direct correlation to you, Donwill. haha.
